Graham has completed the Stephen Avenue Revitalization project between 1st Street SE and Centre Street in downtown Calgary, renewing aging infrastructure while improving accessibility and the pedestrian experience along the historic corridor. The project replaced water, stormwater and electrical infrastructure—some more than 100 years old—and added new concrete sidewalks, granite pavers, benches, bike racks, planters, trees, illuminated bollards and other streetscape features. A new soil cell system provides additional space for tree roots while capturing stormwater for natural irrigation. Serving as Construction Manager under a CMAR delivery model, Graham was involved from preconstruction through execution, coordinating stakeholders and maintaining access to downtown businesses throughout construction. Work began in May 2025 and was completed in June 2026, several months ahead of the original November deadline and in time for the Calgary Stampede. Vibration monitoring helped protect nearby historic buildings during construction, while the project was completed with zero lost-time injuries. The revitalized block provides more resilient infrastructure and an improved public space supporting downtown Calgary businesses, events and year-round activity.
