Gracorp has broken ground on the Edmonds Community Hub in Burnaby, B.C., a mixed-use development that will deliver 480 purpose-built rental homes alongside new community and cultural facilities. Located at 7135 Walker Avenue and 7244 Arcola Street, the approximately 380,000-square-foot project will feature a 50-storey rental tower and six-storey community hub with an auditorium, food bank, and arts and performance spaces. The residential component will include 384 market rental units and 96 non-market rental units. Supported through BC Builds funding, the project brings together Gracorp, the Province of British Columbia, City of Burnaby, The Neighbourhood Church and Graham Construction, demonstrating a collaborative approach to delivering rental housing and community infrastructure. Designed by MCMP Architects, the development will also reinterpret architectural elements of the historic 1912 Edmonds Baptist Church. Graham Construction has started work on site, with completion anticipated in fall 2030.
