Construction technology is moving beyond simply collecting more data. The bigger opportunity is turning that information into action, helping teams identify issues sooner, coordinate work more effectively and make better decisions while projects are still underway.

This week’s ConTech Weekly shows that shift from several angles. Agentic AI is beginning to participate in workflows, field intelligence is organizing jobsite information, reality capture is becoming measurable, and connected platforms are bringing operations and financial data closer together. The tools may be different, but the direction is increasingly clear: technology is becoming more deeply embedded in how construction work actually gets done.

Crewscope has launched an AI-native field intelligence platform for construction, industrial and mining teams, designed to turn jobsite texts, voice notes and photos into structured, actionable project information. The platform integrates with existing systems including Procore, Fieldwire, Trimble and Google Docs, allowing workers and subcontractors to report issues using familiar communication methods while AI organizes information, initiates workflows, notifies appropriate team members and follows up on missing details. Crewscope says deployments have delivered 10x ROI, while a deployment at UHN Toronto Western Hospital achieved 100% jobsite adoption within eight weeks with no permit stoppages. Developed and field-tested with EllisDon teams over three years, the platform includes technology covered by two pending patents for industrial forecasting and multi-agent privacy architecture. Crewscope also announced completion of a SOC 2 Type II audit with no exceptions and says its data is hosted in Canada, supporting enterprise security requirements for contractors and infrastructure operators.

Kahua has earned BSI Kitemark certification for BIM software supporting the ISO 19650 framework, independently validating its approach to structured and secure information management across the built asset lifecycle. The certification covers ISO 19650 Parts 1, 2, 5 and 6 and assesses areas including platform functionality, security-minded information management, user support, development practices and organizational resilience. ISO 19650 provides an international framework for managing information throughout a built asset’s lifecycle using Building Information Modeling (BIM), helping owners, contractors and project teams consistently structure, share and govern project data. Kahua’s Common Data Environment (CDE) connects project information with commercial and cost processes, configurable workflows and lifecycle data within a governed environment. The platform is designed to provide owners and delivery teams with greater visibility and information control from design and construction through handover and operations. Kahua says the certification strengthens its ability to support complex capital programs where information governance, security, collaboration and lifecycle continuity are increasingly important.

DroneDeploy has launched Ground Pro, an advanced 3D capability for DroneDeploy Ground that helps construction superintendents and site managers create measurable records of current jobsite conditions using iPhones, iPads and 360 cameras. The platform transforms field captures into 3D documentation of indoor, outdoor and underground work, helping teams verify conditions, coordinate trades and preserve records before work is concealed. Ground Pro includes Interior Maps for viewing floor and ceiling conditions, Mobile 3D Scan for documenting trenches, in-slab sleeves and other work before backfill or enclosure, and 3D Measure & Navigation for creating measurable 3D environments from 360 walks. Following Procore’s acquisition of DroneDeploy, Ground Pro data is also expected to expand reality-capture capabilities within Procore’s construction management and AI platform. Contractors including Steele & Freeman and KAST Construction are using the technology to document installed work, resolve questions, plan interior construction and reduce unnecessary return trips to jobsites.

STACK Construction Technologies’ Construction Knowledge Gap Report highlights how knowledge transfer, training and technology adoption could affect the next generation of construction workers. Based on a Censuswide survey of 500 U.S. construction professionals ages 18–35 with three years or less of experience, 75% reported lacking formal training, while 82% said they would be more likely to stay long term with an employer that invests in modern technology to capture and share knowledge. Among workers ages 18–25, that figure rises to 90%. The research also found operational consequences when expertise is unavailable: 34% cited project delays, 26% said delays contributed to costly mistakes and 21% identified risks to long-term client trust. Attitudes toward artificial intelligence remain mixed, with 24% viewing AI as an opportunity to bridge knowledge gaps while 25% said younger workers are pushing for new technology but encountering resistance from more experienced decision-makers.

Jobber has introduced Jobber Teammate, an AI-powered assistant designed to proactively help home and commercial service businesses manage daily operations while keeping owners in control. Built directly into Jobber, the new tool uses existing business context to deliver personalized morning briefings, identify tasks requiring attention and prepare work for review and approval. Features include a Daily Digest covering payments, scheduled jobs and crew status; an Action Board that can draft quotes and marketing campaigns; and customizable routines that learn how owners prefer recurring situations to be handled. Jobber Teammate is currently in beta, with early access opening to Jobber customers. The company also announced AI-powered custom reporting, expanded phone and marketing capabilities, Projects for organizing complex work, Crew Scheduling for employees and subcontractors, and Jobber Bookkeeping, which combines operational and financial information within the platform.

SubcontractorHub has partnered with Financeit to bring point-of-sale contractor financing in Canada directly into its platform for roofing, solar, HVAC, water treatment and other home service businesses. The integration allows contractors to present homeowner financing alongside project quotes without switching platforms or sending customers elsewhere to arrange funding. Contractors can offer financing on projects up to $100,000, with digital approvals designed to provide customers with a decision during the sales process. Monthly payment options can help homeowners manage larger project costs, while multi-stage funding supports phased projects by aligning financing with the construction schedule. By embedding Financeit within SubcontractorHub, contractors can manage quoting, project workflows, payments and financing from one platform. The companies say the integration is intended to reduce friction between receiving a project quote and securing financing, potentially helping contractors convert more proposals into signed projects while giving Canadian homeowners additional ways to manage the cost of roofing, HVAC, solar and other home improvements. The integration is now available to SubcontractorHub customers.

ToolKitX HSE software provides a centralized, cloud-based platform for managing health, safety and environmental workflows across construction, engineering, energy, manufacturing and offshore operations. The platform combines HSE audits and inspections, incident and near-miss reporting, risk assessments, corrective and preventive actions, hazard management, document control and analytics within one system. Mobile applications allow field workers to report hazards, complete inspections and access safety information from iOS and Android devices, including while offline. ToolKitX also provides role-based dashboards for monitoring incident trends and HSE performance indicators, while API integrations can connect safety information with ERP, HR and permit-to-work systems. Additional capabilities include emergency people tracking, waste management, safety notices and management of change, with audit templates supporting standards including ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. According to ToolKitX, the scalable SaaS platform is used by organizations including heavy construction companies, offshore operators and renewable energy businesses to centralize operational information and connect field teams, subcontractors, suppliers, owners and clients.

TrueLook has surpassed 5.5 billion construction images captured since 2005, creating a large visual record of jobsites that the company plans to build upon with new Jobsite Intelligence capabilities. The construction camera platform has also streamed more than 6 million hours of video across 26,000 projects in 19 countries, with millions of new images being captured each day. According to TrueLook, the average project using its technology spans 399 days, while some cameras have documented individual sites for more than 5,000 days. This long-term visual history provides construction teams with a record of how projects and jobsite conditions change over time. TrueLook now sees an opportunity to make that imagery more actionable by helping teams find relevant information faster, identify changes requiring attention and gain greater insight into project activity. The company says it will unveil a new generation of Jobsite Intelligence capabilities in October, expanding its core approach to helping construction teams view, document and secure jobsites.

RapidWorks, a software provider serving the heavy equipment and site services industries, has appointed Matt DePaolis as Chief Executive Officer, while former CEO Tim Curran transitions to Executive Chairman of the Board. DePaolis joined RapidWorks as President in 2025 and has worked with the executive team on operational execution, product strategy and customer experience. The leadership transition follows a period of expansion for RapidWorks, including its acquisition of CRO Software and growing presence across heavy equipment and site service markets. As CEO, DePaolis will oversee day-to-day operations while RapidWorks continues investing in product innovation, customer success and strategic growth. Curran will remain involved in shaping the company’s long-term strategy and product vision as Executive Chairman. RapidWorks develops purpose-built software designed to help heavy equipment and site service contractors manage operations, improve productivity, win work and accelerate payments as the company expands its solutions across multiple industry verticals.

Trayd has launched Trayd Accounting, a cloud-based construction accounting platform that connects financial operations with the payroll, workforce and job data contractors use to manage projects. Designed around job profitability rather than a traditional general ledger, the platform records labour, material and equipment costs by project, employee, department and task code, giving contractors greater visibility into project margins while work is underway. Trayd Accounting includes work-in-progress (WIP) reporting, AIA and time-and-materials billing, accounts payable and financial statements, along with AI-enabled workflows that help code contracts, purchase orders and vendor invoices to the appropriate projects and line items. By combining payroll, job costing, workforce management and accounting within one system, Trayd aims to reduce reliance on disconnected software and delayed financial reporting. The platform is generally available to U.S. contractors and supports union and open-shop operations with workforces of up to 2,500 field employees.
