PCL Construction’s Mike Widdifield, Operations Manager in Toronto, has received the 2026 Male Allyship Award from the Canadian Association of Women in Construction (CAWIC) for advancing women through sponsorship, advocacy and inclusive leadership. With more than two decades at PCL, Widdifield has championed women for high-profile project assignments, leadership development opportunities and industry committees designed to increase visibility and career advancement. As PCL Toronto’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion sponsor, he has also supported initiatives aimed at strengthening representation across the organization. PCL reports that its Toronto district sponsorship program now engages 44% of female operations employees, approximately twice its participation target, while women account for 46% of new operations hires in Toronto this year. The CAWIC Male Allyship Award recognizes male leaders who actively promote equity, elevate women’s voices and create meaningful opportunities for women to succeed across the construction industry.
