Recycling with WALKING FLOOR® bins and trailers

Versatility is key in maintaining efficient and economical operations at Materials Recovery Facilities (MRF). Live-bottom bins outfitted with KEITH WALKING FLOOR® systems can receive, store and meter recyclables, streamlining material flow. This “moving floor” unloader is made of a series of floor slats, which are powered by a hydraulic drive. As the floor cycles through its phases, material is conveyed, often to takeaway conveyors and on to a baler.

The same technology brings trailer unloading options to where tippers and dump trailers can’t. The horizontal unloading of a moving floor trailer allows for loads to be discharged at nearly any location, including inside of buildings and in areas with overhead hazards like trees or utility lines. Horizontal unloading is also a safety advantage by eliminating the risk of trailers toppling during tipping.
