Connecting the Gordie Howe International Bridge

Construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge deck began in December 2022. The final segment, is known as the mid-span closure. The process involves multiple steps, including alignment adjustments, structural surveys, and installation of steel girders and precast panels. The components are custom-made in Quebec, ensuring precision. Although the bridge is now connected, additional work is needed for operational readiness.
