Brad-Jay Investments Ltd., owner and operator of Jane Finch Mall since 1968, has announced a strategic partnership with Toronto-based real estate developer Hullmark, which has acquired a minority interest in the property and will serve as Master Development Manager. This milestone follows the City of Toronto’s August 2024 approval of Brad-Jay’s phased, mixed-use redevelopment plan for the site, which envisions new housing, retail, and community amenities. The long-term transformation, expected to roll out over 15–20 years, will build on the mall’s existing role as a central place for shopping, gathering, and accessing services while adapting to the evolving needs of the Jane Finch community.
Since 2021, Brad-Jay has led a dedicated community engagement initiative called ‘jfm+,’ with a team of local residents reaching over 2,000 community members through one-on-one conversations, walking tours, workshops, and large events. This approach ensures the redevelopment is shaped in partnership with the community it serves.
Hullmark President Jeff Hull highlighted the family’s historic ties to the area and its commitment to thoughtful, community-focused development. Executives from both companies emphasized their shared belief in long-term collaboration and delivering value not only to partners but to the local community. As the project moves forward, Brad-Jay and Hullmark remain committed to transparent engagement with tenants and residents to ensure that future phases honor the neighbourhood’s vision and needs.
