Why B.C. trades workers are demanding nasal naloxone on construction sites

Carpenter C. Michael Kinsella, affected by the overdose deaths of many trades worker friends, co-founded the non-profit “The New PPE” to advocate for mandatory nasal naloxone kits on all B.C. construction sites. The group aims to prevent overdose deaths by providing easier-to-use nasal sprays instead of needle kits. This initiative highlights the high rate of overdoses among trades workers and the urgent need for better safety measures on construction sites. Kinsella and supporters call for legislation similar to Ontario’s, ensuring construction sites have life-saving naloxone readily available.
