On March 2, 2022, the Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) held its Awards of Excellence gala. This year’s event combined two years – 2020 and 2021 – as the 2020 celebration was postponed to due to COVID. These project‐specific awards recognize the VRCA’s finest member companies and feature industrial, commercial, institutional, multi‐family residential, and special projects. 

After five Graham projects were honoured with Silver Awards, two went on to receive the top-prize Gold Awards. Joyce-Collingwood Skytrain Station won in the 2020 General Contractors $20 Million to $50 Million category and Air Canada L4 Signature Lounge won in the 2020 General Contractors Tenant Improvement category. 

The Joyce-Collingwood Skytrain Station project addressed critical capacity issues, crowding and wait times. The station straddles a main thoroughfare and includes a busy bus loop. Now double the size, the work was split into 2 phases. Overall, the scope of work included construction of the West Station House and a complete replacement of the existing steel roof structure along with renovations to the East Station House, including an additional elevator and two new escalators, new bike parkade, as well as an extension and renovation to the existing platform and the addition of a new bus loop. The entire scope of work was completed while the station remained fully operational.

Air Canada L4 Signature Lounge retro fit is roughly 5,500 sq. ft. over two floors at the Vancouver International Airport. The Air Canada Signatures Series Suites is a premium product by Air Canada designed for their Signature Class Customers, offering priority services and premium amenities. The Suite features a full complement of high-end finishes and a full commercial kitchen fully airside. The kitchen is of note because it is one of only a handful within the restricted zone.
