Toromont Expands Remanufacturing Operations with Advanced Quebec Facility

Toromont Industries Ltd. has announced a $55 million investment to build a new 90,000-square-foot remanufacturing centre in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec, scheduled to open in summer 2027. The advanced facility will support growing customer demand across Quebec and Eastern Canada while expanding Toromont’s remanufacturing capabilities for engines, hydraulic systems and powertrains used in the industrial construction, mining and marine transportation sectors.

The new centre is expected to double the local workforce to more than 120 skilled production employees and will feature state-of-the-art equipment, including a 4,500-horsepower dynamometer, a 400-hp transmission test cell, 25-tonne overhead cranes and enhanced service capacity for mining trucks, drill rigs and excavators. The facility will also incorporate advanced cleaning technologies and modern operational systems designed to meet high standards for safety, efficiency and quality.

Toromont says the project is part of a broader strategy to modernize its remanufacturing operations while supporting sustainability and the circular economy. By restoring worn equipment components to factory specifications, remanufacturing helps extend equipment life, reduce waste, lower operating costs and minimize environmental impact. The new Quebec facility will complement Toromont’s existing remanufacturing operations in Bradford, Pointe-Claire and Thunder Bay, strengthening support for customers who rely on dependable remanufactured components.

According to Toromont leadership, the investment will improve operational efficiency, increase production capacity and better serve industries across construction, mining and transportation while contributing to long-term sustainable growth in Canada’s heavy equipment sector.
