Rona Foundation honored
March 26, 2024

The RONA Foundation recognized for its impact on the community

The RONA Foundation, which oversees the philanthropic activities of RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating or servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores under different banners, is proud to be a finalist in the prestigious Les Mercuriades 2024 business competition, for the Community Involvement category.

“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve accomplished with the RONA Foundation and the positive impact we have on our community. Our greatest success lies in our ability to give back to people. For us, nothing is more important than making a concrete difference in people’s lives,” explains Josée Lafitte, Director of the RONA Foundation. Catherine Laporte, Chair of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, adds: “It’s an honour to be a finalist in this competition and to be recognized for our commitment to making a tangible, positive difference in the lives of people in need.” I am confident that our mission inspires change and creates stronger communities.”

A meaningful mission that has a tangible impact

This recognition highlights the RONA Foundation’s commitment to hundreds of organizations across Canada. Last year, for its 25th anniversary, the RONA Foundation redefined its mission to be aligned with RONA’s purpose. Today, the Foundation seeks to help improve the quality of life of Canadians in need by revitalizing their living environments and making it easier to access housing. In particular, it aims to help victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families, and people with special needs or mental health issues. The generous contributions of the RONA Foundation have a significant impact on a national scale. In 2023, the RONA Foundation donated over $3.2 million to communities where RONA operates. It has helped improve living environments in different regions and provinces across Canada through various initiatives, whether by offering financial support for renovation projects or by providing materials to organizations such as shelters for victims of domestic violence, organizations that build homes for low-income families, or mental health institutions.
