The FIMJ raises over $500K at its Grand Ball 2022 for underprivileged kids

The Montreal Real Estate Foundation for Kids (FIMJ), under the honorary presidency of Patrice Bourbonnais, President and Chief Operating Officer of Groupe Petra, and its entire team of honorary vice-presidents, raised a record amount of $501,000 during its Grand Ball held on October 21.

With the support of its valued partners and donors in the real estate industry and inspired by its motto “Building the future with youth”, the Foundation will be able to continue to use its expertise and invest primarily in the real estate needs of Montreal organizations whose mandate is to help young people in difficult living conditions.

“I am very honoured to have chaired the 2022 edition of the Grand Ball and to be able to make a difference in the daily lives of young Montrealers in difficulty with the amount raised,” said Patrice Bourbonnais, Honorary President of the Grand Ball 2022.

” We are very happy to be able to contribute to the transformation of safe living spaces, to foster personal development, to reinforce the self-esteem of young people and thus improve the quality of life of families.”

Therefore, guided by the desire to offer a better future to these young people in difficulty or suffering from disabilities, the foundation will be able to continue its support of various organizations and projects including the Ancre des Jeunes in the construction of an urban educational greenhouse to accompany an urban agriculture module aimed at restoring the importance of food in the eyes of young people and mobilizing them around a concrete project, Jeunes musiciens du monde in developing the basement of the Saint-Nom-de-Jésus church, in the Hochelaga-Maisonneuve district, and Centre Philou in the complete renovation of their multi-sensory room outfitted with some of the most modern equipment in Québec.

This support takes the form of concrete gestures and actions, notably participation in the acquisition or improvement of buildings, as well as the purchase of equipment and materials.

“Thanks to the support of our valued partners, including Groupe Petra, GDI, Kevric, Tyron, Cromwell, De Grandpré Chait, Montoni, Toitures Hogue, Avicor, Bee-Clean, CBRE, Complexe Desjardins, Gerstat Inc, IA Groupe Financier, Ivanhoe Cambridge, P&R Desjardins Construction, Pomerleau, Speico and the entire real estate industry who contributed to raising a record amount of money, we will be able to carry out more projects and make a difference in the lives of young Montrealers who need it,” says Mario Bédard, president of the board of directors of the FIMJ.
