The Government of Alberta has appointed the Alberta Dispute Adjudication for Construction Contracts (ADACC) as a Nominating Authority under the Prompt Payment and Construction Lien Act, RSA 2000, c P-26.4. As a designated Nominating Authority, ADACC is responsible for overseeing and administering construction-related adjudications throughout Alberta. ADACC’s mandate includes training, qualifying Adjudicators for the roster, and appointing Adjudicators to resolve payment disputes quickly, cost-effectively, and fairly in accordance with the legislation.
ADACC derives its authority from both the Prompt Payment for Construction Lien Act, RSA 2000, c P-26.4 and the Prompt Payment and Adjudication Regulation, Alta Reg 23/2022.
Through the adjudication process, parties who have construction disputes can resolve those disputes very quickly, allowing them to maintain cash flow, preserve business relationships, and continue the construction project uninterrupted.

“ADACC is committed to ensuring that construction stakeholders in Alberta have access to a prompt, impartial, and professional dispute resolution,” said Elise Teitler, ADACC Managing Director. “Our mission is to uphold the principles of fairness, timeliness, and transparency in every adjudication.”
