Schneider Electric and One Click LCA have partnered to enhance the accuracy of environmental assessments in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. This collaboration addresses a long-standing challenge in assessing the environmental impact of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems by integrating Schneider Electric’s detailed product data into One Click LCA’s sustainability platform. Initially targeting new building projects in Europe, this marks the first large-scale availability of comprehensive MEP environmental data, enabling AEC professionals to perform precise life-cycle assessments and make informed sustainability decisions.
Buildings contribute 39% of global energy-related carbon emissions, and with half of today’s buildings still expected to be in use by 2050, retrofitting is key to reducing emissions. Schneider Electric estimates retrofitting can cut building lifecycle emissions by up to 83%. By making MEP product data accessible, this partnership aims to improve sustainable building design and set a new standard for transparency in the industry.
Schneider Electric’s Global Head of Sustainability, Sorouch Kheradmand, emphasized the importance of reliable environmental data for informed decision-making, while One Click LCA CEO Panu Pasanen highlighted how this collaboration closes a critical gap in life-cycle assessments. The partnership also enables enhanced product selection for sustainable building projects, supporting the industry’s transition toward greener construction practices.
