As published on October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and this year Service Rentals & Sales is set to raise awareness to new heights, about 60 feet to be exact.
The local construction equipment rental and service shop located on Sackville Road is unveiling a custom painted telescopic boom man lift that will be used to promote breast cancer awareness and research.
The company will donate a portion of each rental contract to help to fight breast cancer and its effects.
The lift, a 60 foot JLG primarily used on construction and industrial sites across the north, was dismantled so each piece could be custom painted pink and black.
The idea to support breast cancer research was hatched by Jenn McGonegal, Service Rentals Service Manager and Safety Trainer. “Cancer is a horrible disease, and breast cancer in particular has affected so many of our friends and family that I felt that we had to do our part to help. It was a lot of work and time, but I believe it was definitely worth it” said McGonegal.
McGonegal sought the help of Tyler Perin of Classic Signs to design the decals for the unit. Once the company heard what Service Rentals was doing, they decided to generously donate all their time and materials. “It’s because of the support of wonderful local companies like Classic Signs, that things like this are possible” said McGonegal.
