We have just completed a unique project that only a company like RM could do!

Metrolinx contacted us to design, manufacture and assemble a maintenance shop and a storage building for the Don Yard Upgrade in Toronto.

Over the last decade, Metrolinx has expanded transit throughout the Greater Toronto Region. The expansion of transit in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area is one of the largest concentrations of infrastructure projects in North America. The project management was done by Dufferin Construction.

RM was chosen because our fiberglass modular parts are large and can be quickly assembled. Quick assembly was important because the area was very dangerous due to rail transit cars operating.

Due to location of the buildings, the assembly crew had to be small in number. RM was able to do the complete installation with a crew of 4!

Each building is 20 feet wide x 38 feet long x 15 feet high. A fire rated wall had to be installed between each building because of the use of the buildings and close positioning of the buildings.

Each building has 10’ x 10 ‘ roll up doors with electric openers and awnings and eaves. They were assembled on a concrete slab.

The maintenance building also has windows down the side.
