Procore Supercharges BIM with Novorender and FlyPaper Acquisitions

Procore Technologies, a global leader in construction management software, has announced major advancements to its Building Information Modeling (BIM) capabilities through the acquisition of Novorender and FlyPaper Technologies. These strategic moves are set to transform how construction professionals access, visualize, and utilize complex BIM data across the project lifecycle.

As BIM adoption continues to grow globally—fueled by government mandates in Europe and the increasing complexity of megaprojects—many in the industry still struggle to fully unlock the potential of model-based construction. Procore’s latest investments aim to address these challenges head-on.

Novorender, founded in Norway, is known for its industry-leading 3D model viewer and rendering technology. With processing speeds up to 25 times faster than current industry standards, Novorender enables construction teams to combine and render massive models in seconds, supporting everything from preconstruction to operations. “Novorender’s ability to render sizable models in seconds will exponentially increase Procore’s BIM processing power,” said Tore Hovland, CEO of Novorender.

FlyPaper Technologies, creators of the Sherlock plugin for Navisworks, brings powerful AI-driven model detection and coordination tools to the Procore platform. Already in use by top ENR 400 contractors, FlyPaper enables streamlined clash detection and automated 3D design coordination. This will improve project predictability, reduce rework, and enhance jobsite safety.

According to Steve Davis, President of Product & Technology at Procore, these acquisitions mark a pivotal moment in the company’s mission to create the most powerful, connected BIM platform on the market. “Together, we’re working to deliver the most performant model-based construction management platform for large, complex projects,” Davis said.

The integration of Novorender and FlyPaper will allow Procore customers to seamlessly connect BIM data across teams, coordinate designs in real-time, and navigate complex models with ease—all within a single platform. These enhancements are expected to significantly elevate efficiency, reduce risk, and promote collaboration across construction teams worldwide.
