PCL Construction has been awarded a contract for the Green Line LRT SE Project in Calgary, advancing construction of the Maintenance and Storage Facility (MSF), a critical component of the city’s future light rail transit system. The multi-building facility will support daily Green Line operations by providing infrastructure for light rail vehicle storage, maintenance, and preparation. PCL’s scope includes site grading, underground utilities, drainage infrastructure, retaining walls, utility protection, and construction of building foundations for the maintenance shop, train storage facility, and administrative spaces. Additional work includes site stripping, rough grading, installation of underground services and duct banks, as well as cast-in-place concrete foundations with embedded mechanical and electrical systems. Construction began in late May and is expected to be completed later this year. The project represents a significant milestone in the development of Calgary’s Green Line LRT, one of Canada’s largest public transit infrastructure investments, designed to enhance urban mobility and support future transit operations across the city.
