On his scheduled sentencing day, contractor Scott Eisemann, who pleaded guilty to several fraud charges, requested to withdraw his guilty plea, citing issues with the statement of facts and his perception of them. Eisemann, accused of defrauding clients in Simcoe County and Muskoka since 2017, also mentioned personal struggles with depression. His lawyer sought to withdraw from the case, and Eisemann plans to return with new representation. The Crown attorney opposed the plea withdrawal. Eisemann, previously convicted of fraud in 2014, expressed a desire to rectify the situation with his victims.
