The MV Isabelle, a 154-meter floating hotel, has arrived at the Port of Nanaimo, Vancouver Island. It will house over 600 workers for the Woodfibre LNG construction project near Squamish, B.C. Previously used as a ferry between Latvia and Sweden, and then to accommodate Ukrainian refugees in Estonia, the Canadian-flagged vessel has been outfitted with amenities like lockers, games tables, and a large fitness facility. Owned by Vancouver-based Bridgemans Services Group, the ship aims to minimize the impact on Squamish during construction and is equipped with environmental systems such as sewage and water treatment, and the ability to run on shore power.
