The Millwright Regional Council and the non-profit Build a Dream have launched the “Introduction to Millwrighting: 5-Week Program for Women,” a joint initiative aimed at promoting diversity and inclusion in the workforce. This collaboration reflects the Council’s dedication to building a more inclusive workforce and includes a memorandum of understanding for future cooperation. The program offers comprehensive support, including financial aid and career coaching, to empower women to thrive in skilled trades, especially as UBC Millwrights. This initiative is part of a broader goal to rewrite the narrative for women in skilled trades and expand the program nationally.
