As METALCON celebrates its 35th anniversary, the premier event for the metal construction industry is expanding its education and training offerings to help professionals navigate workforce challenges, evolving building codes, economic uncertainty, and emerging technologies.
Taking place October 7–9, 2026, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, METALCON 2026 will feature hands-on training, industry outlook sessions, keynote presentations, continuing education opportunities, and a new Spanish-language Latino Track designed to support the industry’s growing workforce.
A key differentiator of METALCON is its commitment to practical, field-focused education. Attendees will gain direct access to live demonstrations and expert instruction aimed at improving installation quality, productivity, and jobsite performance.
The popular METAL Mastery Clinics, presented by the Metal Construction Association and Metal Roofing Alliance, will showcase best practices for installing standing seam metal roofing systems, metal shingles, and retrofit roofing solutions. Contractors will learn techniques that enhance efficiency, improve workmanship, and deliver greater value to building owners.
The METALCON Training Zone, sponsored by Sherwin-Williams | MetalVue, will provide hands-on demonstrations using materials such as painted steel, aluminum, zinc, and copper. Sessions will be offered in both English and Spanish, giving attendees opportunities to test tools and learn directly from industry experts.
METALCON 2026 will feature keynote presentations focused on leadership, resilience, and the future of the construction market.
Former Major League Baseball pitcher Jim Abbott will deliver a motivational keynote on overcoming challenges, adaptability, and leadership. Meanwhile, renowned construction economist Kermit Baker will provide an economic outlook for the architecture, engineering, and construction sectors, helping attendees understand market trends, project pipelines, and business opportunities heading into 2027.
Additional industry outlook sessions will address the future of metal construction, including material costs, supply chain pressures, workforce issues, regulatory changes, and economic conditions affecting the industry.
To help attendees customize their educational experience, METALCON has organized programming into five dedicated learning centers:
These targeted learning environments provide specialized education for contractors, fabricators, architects, engineers, installers, and designers working throughout the metal construction sector.
New for 2026, METALCON is launching a dedicated Latino Track featuring Spanish-language educational sessions and hands-on training. The program is designed to support Spanish-speaking contractors, installers, roofing professionals, and business leaders with technical, leadership, and business-focused content.
Topics will include business planning, leadership development, roofing system performance, and engineered metal roofing solutions.
With expanded training opportunities, continuing education credits, market intelligence, and networking events, METALCON 2026 continues to serve as the industry’s leading platform for professional development and innovation.
Registration is now open, with pre-show workshops beginning October 6, ahead of the main event running October 7–9 in Orlando.
