Kwant Unveils Groundbreaking Workforce Operating System

Kwant is ecstatic to announce the launch of the Workforce Operating System (wOS) launch, the world’s first end-to-end workforce management system tailored for the construction industry. This cutting-edge platform is set to redefine construction project management, delivering unprecedented safety and productivity enhancements. wOS is part of a larger update that our team has been working on for several months in partnership with our customers, partners, and industry leaders. Kwant 2.0, the new version of our existing application, comes with numerous updates and improvements in data collection, user interface, and analytics.

These advancements include enhanced data collection for precise tracking of workforce activities, a more intuitive and customizable user interface, and advanced analytics with predictive capabilities and comprehensive reporting. By streamlining operations, improving worker safety, and boosting productivity, Kwant 2.0 and wOS address the growing pains of rapidly expanding markets such as industrial and infrastructure construction, data center construction, and affordable housing. We are excited and proud to invite builders, developers, workers, and insurers to join us in our mission to modernize the construction industry and support millions of construction workers worldwide.

Collecting High-Quality Data

Kwant has had the privilege of working on some of the largest construction projects worldwide, involving approximately 100,000 workers and top-tier owners and builders, with investments totaling billions of dollars. One of the key insights from these projects is the critical role of workers in achieving successful outcomes. While many factors contribute to turning a design into a structure—such as subcontractors, materials, budget, project management, and supply chain logistics—workers remain the construction’s most expensive and risk-prone aspect. We made huge leaps in ensuring we collect high-quality and accurate data with minimal onboarding. Key features we launched recently as part of Kwant 2.0 include Facial Recognition for badgeless access control and safety management, Solar Gateways to minimize data loss, & Turnstile System Standardization via leading Access Control companies.

Providing Actionable Insights

With millions of hours of data collected, including time, location, trade, certification, and safety information, Kwant recognized the immense potential to provide actionable insights. Discussions with customers revealed several key points:

  • Tailored Insights for Every Role: Executives need high-level portfolio overviews, project managers require detailed worker data, administrators need to manage workforce logistics, and workers benefit from timely alerts. Different interfaces are necessary for each function.
  • Simplicity and Clarity: Highlighting only the most critical insights ensures users are not overwhelmed and provides a quick health overview of projects.
  • Comprehensive Visualization: Tracking trends and grouping data by parameters such as cost, workers, subcontractors, location, time, movement, alerts, and certifications is essential.

Making Data Actionable

To ensure customers can take timely and effective actions to enhance safety, compliance, and productivity, Kwant developed several features:

  • Risk Score System: Like FICO and EMR scores, Kwant’s risk ranking system benchmarks project risks using real-time data from Kwant and third-party sources, including near misses, cameras, telematics, water leaks, schedules, costs, BIM, and injury rates and aggregates it with Kwant data to provide actionable benchmarking across productivity, safety and compliance.
  • Root Cause Analysis: An updated design interface lets users drill down into root causes, gain deeper insights, and take decisive actions such as sending alerts, resolving issues, and preparing reports. This leads to:
    • Saving hours of manual reporting
    • Increasing safety measures
    • Reducing delays and boosting productivity
    • Enhancing data-driven risk management
    • Reducing fines and improving compliance
  • Forecasting Risk: By analyzing past project trends, Kwant enables proactive decisions to mitigate risks such as worker injuries, project delays, or non-compliance fines.

Automating Reporting using AI

Kwant team has been working on the AI-based bot to copilot the report generation using LLM. Our customers have various reporting requirements, from prevailing wage reports to proximity reports of safety incidents, theft, and vandalism. Kwant has released the beta version of the LLM-based chatbot – “Bob – the AI Assistant.”  The first version of Bob can answer questions related to the workforce, like filtering for fatigued workers, determining which access points are most active, etc. This saves hours every week of the superintendent’s time.

But we are not stopping there. We are working on a reporting feature that will revolutionize how we handle Daily Reports and Safety Incident Reports. Once launched, this feature will play a pivotal role in enhancing the daily operations of every construction project, bringing a new level of productivity and compliance.

Since open-source LLM models are not trained for a specific industry, training the model to understand construction industry-specific queries, verbiage, and jargon is critical. This unique model is proprietary to Kwant and can help generate reports, get insights, and compare different parameters with a simple query. Kwant’s team has been structuring billions of rows of workforce management, safety, and compliance data across 100K+ workers, 6K safety alerts, and millions of hours of timesheets. Join the Exclusive Group of Customers and Partners

We are thrilled to announce the deployment of Kwant 2.0 and wOS, which have been validated by over 20 customers. This marks a significant leap forward for Kwant & the industry, and the positive reviews and feedback we have received so far are a testament to our progress. These features are designed to address the growing pains of rapidly expanding markets such as industrial and infrastructure construction, data center construction, and the affordable housing market nationally and internationally.

In addition, the Workforce Operating System (wOS) is extending its market reach through strategic partnerships with insurance carriers and brokers. wOS aids in data-driven underwriting, loss control, and preventing fraudulent claims in workers’ compensation, builders’ risk, and general liability. We are excited and proud to invite builders, developers, workers, and insurers to join us in our mission to modernize the construction industry and support millions of construction workers worldwide.
