IAPMO Indonesia completes Enterprising Sustainability Summit

Jakarta, Indonesia (Nov. 18, 2019) – PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia, in cooperation with the Green Product Council Indonesia (GPCI) and the Indonesian Plumbing Association (APIN), hosted a comprehensive three-day Indonesia Sustainable Construction and Plumbing (ISCOP) conference and exposition at Jakarta International Expo. ISCOP was held in conjunction with Konstruksi Indonesia and Indonesia Infrastructure events, which was opened by Indonesian President Joko Widodo. Centered around the theme “Advancing Sustainable Construction Materials and Plumbing Systems for a Sustainable Future,” the event gathered stakeholders from across the construction and plumbing industries to a develop greener, smarter, safer and more efficient building environment for Indonesia.

ISCOP sought to support the Indonesian government in its commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2030, relating specifically to infrastructure, industry, environment, water access and sanitation, education and human resources.

During the event, PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia signed cooperative agreements with several universities throughout the nation to conduct training and certification programs for plumbing specialists, including Udayana University in Bali and Syiah Kuala University in Banda Aceh. PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia is the only personnel certification body for plumbing skills in Indonesia that meets the requirements of the SNI ISO 17024:2012 standard and is accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN).

In addition to PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia, GPCI, and APIN, the event was supported by the Ministry of Industry, Badan Standardisasi Nasional (BSN), the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Indonesian Consumer Institution Foundation (YLKI), PT Anugerah Extravisi Raya (AER), PT Wahana Duta Jaya rucika, the International Water and Sanitary Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), PT Mowilex Indonesia, Arwana Ceramics, and the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). ISCOP 2019 is also supported by Construction of Indonesia, Indonesia Infrastructure Week, and intertraffic.

ISCOP was sponsored by PT. Anugerah Ekstravisi Raya (AER); PT. Mowilex Indonesia; PT. Wahana Duta Jaya Rucika; and Arwana Ceramics. It was also supported by the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Public Works and Housing and the Indonesian National Construction Services (LPJK). Speakers during the ISCOP conference included representatives from PT. IAPMO Group Indonesia, GPCI, APIN, the Ministry of Industry, BSN, the Ministry of Environment and Forestry, the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, Indonesian Consumer Institution Foundation (YLKI), PT Anugerah Extravisi Raya (AER), PT Wahana Duta Jaya rucika, the International Water and Sanitary Hygiene Foundation (IWSH), PT. Mowilex Indonesia, Arwana Ceramics, the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI), PT. Kapita Prima Consult, DKI Jakarta Building Expert, Udayana University and Syiah Kuala University.

APIN presented a roadmap to address the national plumbing industry and its global challenges, specifically environmentally friendly and efficient construction products and materials. Through APIN, the industry directs the development of standards governing construction, plumbing and building materials toward the health and safety of the Indonesian people.

Additionally, YLKI delivered a presentation on informing consumers about environmentally friendly products. Markings such as Green Label Indonesia, which is developed by GPCI, help consumers identify green products.
