This Veterans Day, CONEXPO-CON/AGG pays tribute to the service and sacrifice of U.S. military veterans, recognizing the values they bring to the construction industry—strength, discipline, and leadership. Held every three years, the next edition of North America’s largest construction trade show returns to Las Vegas, March 3–7, 2026, spotlighting innovation, workforce development, and the people who power progress.
More than a showcase for cutting-edge equipment and construction technology, CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 will continue its commitment to supporting veterans through education, on-site training, and partnerships aimed at helping them transition into rewarding careers in the skilled trades.
“Veterans represent the best of what makes this industry strong,” says Dana Wuesthoff, Show Director. “We’re proud to provide opportunities that connect veterans to meaningful roles within construction.”
According to the Home Builders Institute, 6.5% of the veteran workforce is already employed in construction—a number expected to grow. Veterans bring essential skills such as logistics, operations, and problem-solving, which translate seamlessly from military service to construction sites. Their mission-oriented mindset and leadership qualities are a perfect match for the demands of a modern jobsite.
Hiring veterans is not just a patriotic gesture—it’s a smart workforce strategy. As Dr. Larry Kokkelenberg, a keynote speaker at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2023, noted, “When you hire a veteran, you’re not offering charity—you’re investing in proven leadership.”
The 2026 event will put this commitment front and center with educational sessions, interactive exhibits, and workforce development programs aimed at empowering the next generation of skilled professionals, including veterans. The event underscores how the industry is embracing veteran talent to address critical labor shortages while fostering an inclusive and purpose-driven workforce.
In honor of Veterans Day, CONEXPO-CON/AGG invites construction leaders to reflect on the critical role veterans play—not only in protecting our nation but in rebuilding and modernizing it. The show continues to champion initiatives that bridge military experience with construction career pathways, strengthening both the workforce and the industry.
