With construction of the Gordie Howe International Bridge hitting new heights, the groups responsible for the project are holding appreciation breakfasts to thank Windsor and Detroit residents for their “support and patience.”
“The project team takes tremendous pride in being part of the Windsor-Detroit region,” said Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority CEO Charl van Niekerk.
“The community appreciation breakfasts are our way of expressing our gratitude to neighbouring residents while taking a moment to celebrate significant recent achievements on the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.”
The Detroit breakfast is scheduled for Saturday at Clark Park. The Windsor festivities happen Nov. 4 at the Sandwich Teen Action Group’s King Street location. Both events will include entertainment and family-friendly activities, along with a free breakfast for up to 500 people.
The WDBA, a Canadian Crown corporation overseeing the construction and operation of the bridge, is hosting the events with Bridging North America, the consortium of private companies building it.
