Gold Seal Certification Celebrates 35 Years of Construction Excellence in Canada

The Gold Seal Certification Program is celebrating its 35th anniversary in 2026, marking more than three decades of recognizing leadership, professionalism and excellence across Canada’s construction industry.

Founded in 1991, the program was created to recognize construction professionals who demonstrate high standards of industry knowledge, leadership and professional development.

More Than 13,000 Gold Seal Certified Professionals

Over the past 35 years, the Gold Seal community has grown to include 13,341 Gold Seal Certified professionals, along with 274 active P.GSCs and 70 Gold Seal Employers across Canada.

Beyond these numbers, the program recognizes construction professionals who have invested their time, expertise and commitment in advancing their careers and strengthening the industry.

Gold Seal Certified professionals contribute to successful construction projects and organizations while mentoring future leaders and supporting the continued development of Canada’s construction workforce.

Recognizing Leadership in Canadian Construction

While the Gold Seal Certification Program has evolved significantly since 1991, its core purpose remains focused on recognizing construction professionals who lead by example and pursue excellence within the industry.

The 35th anniversary also recognizes the contributions of Gold Seal Employers, volunteers, partner associations and industry champions that have supported the program and its certified professionals over the decades.

As Canada’s construction industry continues to evolve, the Gold Seal program remains focused on professional excellence and developing the leaders responsible for building Canada’s future.
