Geo Week 2027 Announces Conference Program and Speaker Lineup

Organizers of Geo Week 2027 have announced the conference program and speaker lineup for the upcoming geospatial and mapping event, taking place February 23–25, 2027, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.

The 2027 program will explore technologies and challenges affecting geospatial professionals and the built environment, including artificial intelligence, reality capture, Scan-to-BIM, subsurface mapping, lidar, infrastructure mapping, data accuracy and workforce development.

Sessions will combine real-world case studies with discussions about how emerging technologies are changing the way professionals capture, analyze and use geospatial data.

AI and Geospatial Data Take Centre Stage

Artificial intelligence will be a significant theme at Geo Week 2027, with sessions examining both the opportunities and practical challenges associated with AI-enabled geospatial workflows.

Topics include How AI Is Rewriting Geospatial Demand and A General Counsel’s Guide to Defensible Geospatial Data in the Age of AI, reflecting growing attention to not only what AI can do with spatial information, but also the accuracy, reliability and defensibility of the underlying data.

The program will also explore emerging visualization technologies through the session Are Gaussian Splats Ready for Real Work?

Together, these discussions will examine how rapidly evolving technologies are affecting data collection, visualization and decision-making across the geospatial industry.

Reality Capture, SLAM and Scan-to-BIM

Reality capture remains another major component of the conference.

Geo Week 2027 will examine technologies and workflows used to document existing conditions and transform field data into useful digital information. Sessions include a Survey Grade SLAM Panel along with discussions covering capture workflows designed to reduce project risk and improve outcomes.

Scan-to-BIM also forms part of the broader conference program, connecting geospatial data collection with Building Information Modeling and digital construction workflows.

For architecture, engineering and construction professionals, these technologies are increasingly important for documenting existing conditions, coordinating projects and creating accurate digital representations of physical assets.

Mapping Infrastructure Above and Below Ground

Infrastructure mapping will feature prominently throughout the conference.

Bringing the Underground Into View will address subsurface mapping, while Next-Generation Corridor Mapping Technologies and Roads, Rails and Bridges in Three Dimensions will explore geospatial applications for transportation and infrastructure assets.

The program also includes Advancing River and Coastal Mapping with Integrated Lidar Workflows, highlighting the role of advanced mapping technologies in understanding waterways and coastal environments.

These sessions reflect the expanding use of lidar, reality capture and 3D mapping for infrastructure planning, construction, inspection and asset management.

One of the previously announced Geo Week 2027 keynotes will focus on Utah’s Great Salt Lake.

A Lake in Crisis: Mapping Utah’s Great Salt Lake will bring together a panel examining how improved geospatial data can help communities understand and respond to changes affecting the shrinking lake.

The session will explore how mapping technology can provide better information about one of the western United States’ most threatened lakes.

Additional Geo Week 2027 keynotes are expected to be announced.

Professional Development and Emerging Leaders

Event partners ASPRS and the Reality Capture Network (RCN) will continue to host dedicated conference tracks available to attendees with the Geo Week Full Conference Pass.

Geo Week also works with professional development associations, including GISCI, to offer certificates of attendance that participants can submit toward professional certification and educational accreditation requirements.

An Emerging Leaders Networking and Mentorship Kickoff also will be part of the 2027 event, providing opportunities for professional development and industry networking.

New Digital Insider Access for 2027

Geo Week News also is introducing Digital Insider Access for the 2027 event.

Available as an additional purchase for conference pass holders, the digital option will provide post-event access to keynote videos, session recordings, supporting materials and additional takeaways from the conference.

The new offering extends access to conference content beyond the three-day event and provides attendees with an opportunity to revisit technical sessions and presentations after returning from Salt Lake City.

Geo Week 2027 takes place February 23–25, 2027, at the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City, Utah.
