Held on April 24–25, 2025, Future of Work 2025 marked a powerful shift in the way the construction industry approaches collaboration, innovation, and workforce development. Hosted at Pitt Meadows Plumbing’s Shop XL, in partnership with Houle Electric, the event energized BC Construction Month with two days of authentic dialogue and hands-on action.
Unlike traditional conferences, Future of Work 2025 created an environment where builders, trades, and innovators could engage deeply on urgent issues—skilled labor shortages, technological disruption, and the need for new project delivery models. From a Thursday Industry Mixer to a full day of expert panels and keynotes on Friday, the event put real collaboration and early engagement at the forefront.
Matt Bewsey of Houle emphasized: “We built this event because construction deserves a conversation grounded in experience and innovation, led by the people doing the work.”
Key themes included:
With sponsorship support up 45% from 2024 and ticket sales quadrupling to over 800, Future of Work 2025 proved the industry’s growing appetite for real change. Over 30 sponsor activations transformed the fabrication floor into an interactive hub, while community efforts, like PPE donations for Working Gear Clothing Society, emphasized social responsibility.
Speaker highlights included leaders from Procore, Compass Datacenters, Kiewit Canada, EllisDon, Turner Construction Canada, and more, delivering insights that blended hard-earned experience with bold vision.
The event closed with a call to action: shaping the future of work is not only about new technology but about investing in people—mentoring, volunteering, and creating opportunity for the next generation of builders.
Special thanks went to key partners, platinum sponsors (Procore, Olympic International, Victaulic, KMS Tools), and contributors who made this groundbreaking event possible.
