First edition of the Canadian Concrete Expo 2018 a huge success

The Construction Links Network is a proud media sponsor of the Canadian Concrete Expo and extend a huge congratulations to the Canadian Concrete Expo team on a job well done!

The Inaugural Canadian Concrete Expo took place at the International Centre in Toronto on Feb. 7 and. 8 and featured nearly 200 exhibitors.

The event was organized by 20/20 Show Productions Inc. and “Attendance was strong over the two days,” said expo president Stuart Galloway. “Not in the sense of some shows that have tens of thousands of attendees, this was solid quality people that work within the concrete construction industry.”

Despite a massive early morning snow storm on the first day,
hundreds of contractors turned up to view concrete related
products, equipment and services

“It’s going to grow. It seems to have really come to fruition in the sense that the exhibitors are very pleased,” Galloway said. “And those that attended the show are ecstatic about what they are able to see, “There is not an expo in Canada that provides anything like this for the Canadian manufacturers, suppliers or the concrete construction industry,” Galloway said. “Everybody generally has to go to another country if they want to see these products and services. That’s where the concept came from.”

The show featured a variety of products used across the concrete industry, from rebar to boom pumps along with Conference Seminars, Product Presentations and Large Equipment Demos that were offered to all attendees on the trade show floor.

HD Supply sponsored a well-attended session on the hazards
of silica dust and necessary protection. Rick Tunks (right),
safety specialist program manager at HD Supply, led the talk
with guest speakers from 3M (centre) and Bosch (left).

The expo will return to the International Centre Toronto in 2019 on Feb. 6 and 7. Galloway expects the show’s footprint will double from about 13,950 square metres to upwards of 27,800 square metres accommodating 250 exhibitors and upwards of 7500 attendees.

We would like to thank our Title Sponsors, Building Point Canada and Symons by Dayton Superior, plus our Platinum sponsors Lafarge Canada Inc., TILTWall and Lehigh Hanson for supporting this show and believing this project was long needed for this market. More than 50 supporting associations sponsored or endorsed show, the only National Trade Show dedicated to the Concrete Construction Industry.

Hope to see everyone next year as we strive towards continued excellence, growth and success.
