Saskatchewan engineer Veto Varma, P.Eng., has been fined $10,000 and had his practice restricted after being found guilty of professional misconduct and incompetence by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS). Varma issued inadequate structural designs and compliance letters without proper inspection for a condominium project, violating the National Building Code of Canada. He must pay the fine, complete ethics courses, and work under supervision for future commercial projects.
