Egis, a global leader in architecture, consulting, construction engineering, operations, and mobility services, has acquired Ecometrix, a Canadian-based environmental and water consultancy. The acquisition strengthens Egis’ presence in Canada, doubling its environmental expertise and expanding its ability to deliver integrated solutions across the mining, nuclear, and water resource sectors.

Founded in 2004, Ecometrix has built a strong reputation through its team of 60 professionals in Ontario, providing high-level environmental services to the mining, nuclear, government, and private sectors. The firm specializes in permitting and regulatory compliance, ensuring clients meet complex environmental requirements.

By joining Egis, Ecometrix enhances the firm’s technical expertise and capacity in several critical sectors:

  • Nuclear: Ecometrix’s services complement Egis’ 50 years of global nuclear expertise, supporting the growth of its Canadian nuclear practice.
  • Mining: The firm’s technical capabilities will elevate Egis’ offerings, creating a more comprehensive suite of environmental solutions for the mining industry.
  • Water Resources: Ecometrix strengthens Egis’ in-house water resource services, expanding capacity for larger industrial and infrastructure applications.

The partnership reflects Egis’ strategic goal to grow its nuclear and environmental practices in Canada, while advancing its ability to deliver sustainable, integrated solutions.

Greg Northcott, CEO of Egis in Canada, highlighted the significance of the acquisition: “We are thrilled to welcome Ecometrix to Egis. This new acquisition continues the firm’s growth in Canada, strengthening our ability to support our clients’ needs. The addition supports our strategic objective of growing our nuclear practice and environmental services, enabling us to provide a full spectrum of environmental services.”

Bruce Rodgers, CEO of Ecometrix, echoed the excitement, stating: “Joining forces with Egis is an exciting opportunity for Ecometrix. The move fuels our collective growth and considerably enhances the services that we can provide to our clients.”

This acquisition marks a pivotal step for Egis in expanding its Canadian footprint. By combining Ecometrix’s specialized expertise with Egis’ global resources and experience, the partnership is positioned to deliver advanced environmental and water solutions that support sustainable growth across multiple industries.
