Download Available: Report on comments toward development of 2021 USHGC and USPSHTC codes

The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO), developer of the Uniform Solar, Hydronics and Geothermal Code (USHGC) and Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code (USPSHTC), has posted online the 2020 Report on Comments (ROC) for the 2021 editions of these prospective American National Standard-designated model codes. The ROC is the technical committee report on the actions taken by the technical committee accompanied by a ballot statement and one or more comments resulting from public review of the Report on Proposals (ROP).

The USHGC and USPSHTC are model codes developed by IAPMO to govern the installation and inspection of solar energy, hydronics and geothermal energy systems, as well as swimming pool, spa, and hot tub systems, respectively, as a means of promoting the public’s health, safety, and welfare. The 2021 edition of each code, scheduled for publication early next year, is being developed through a process accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). The notification of the ROC availability will also be posted in the ANSI Standards Action for public review. The public review deadline is Oct. 26. Please send any comments to codes-dept@iapmo.org.

Anyone may appeal to the Executive Committee of the USHGC/USPSHTC in accordance with Section 9.0 of the IAPMO Regulations Governing Consensus Development of the USHGC and USPSHTC, which can be viewed by clicking here.

The notification of intent to file a written appeal deadline is Oct. 30.

For questions about submitting comments for the USHGC or USPSHTC, please contact Taylor Costea at (909) 218-8126 or taylor.costea@iapmo.org.
