Stay Ahead of Material Cost Fluctuations

Construction firms face severe disruptions in global supply chains due to volatile material costs for steel, concrete, asphalt, and more. . Price swings—driven by inflation, geopolitical tensions, and transport delays—lead to budget overruns, project delays, and labor inefficiencies. Proactive firms combat volatility with diversified suppliers, long-term contracts, real-time cost tracking, and flexible designs to protect margins and ensure project success.

Transforming from Traditional Cost Management to EVM in Construction

Transitioning to an integrated EVM framework requires strong executive support and a shift toward data-driven decision-making. It involves overhauling traditional cost coding with granular WBS/CBS and integrating ERP/project management systems. Comprehensive staff training, clear baselines, and detailed reporting processes are essential. Pilot projects and continuous feedback drive process refinement and stakeholder alignment.

Leading the Future: How Digital Leadership is Reshaping U.S. Construction

Glauber Martiniano Bachi, CEO of Açoval Comercial LTDA and a seasoned innovation specialist, highlights how digital transformation is reshaping the U.S. construction industry. With 14+ years of experience, Bachi underscores the need for strong, people-centric leadership to effectively integrate advanced technologies like BIM, AI, and IoT into construction workflows. These tools enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve safety—but their true potential is realized only when paired with strategic leadership that prioritizes collaboration, training, and user experience. Bachi emphasizes that success in today’s construction landscape depends not just on adopting technology but on developing leaders who connect people, data, and processes in a cohesive, human-driven ecosystem. As automation and real-time data management redefine project delivery, companies must foster digitally fluent teams and forge strong communication networks across all stakeholders. Despite challenges such as labor shortages and rising material costs, Bachi believes that firms embracing digital leadership and continuous learning will gain a lasting competitive edge. The future of construction, he asserts, is built on the synergy between innovative tools and empowered people.
