NIBS Opens Call for Speaker Abstracts for Building Innovation: Emerging Technologies Series

The National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS) has launched the Building Innovation: Emerging Technologies Series, and we’re looking for speakers. The inaugural event – Digital Twins 2024 – will focus on the creation, use, and benefits of digital twin technology. It will take place December 9-11, 2024, at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD. Industry leaders with valuable insights, case studies, best practices, lessons learned, and/or remaining challenges are encouraged to share their knowledge and experiences with a broad audience of building industry stakeholders by submitting an abstract for consideration no later than September 20, 2024.

The Open Compute Project Foundation (OCP), in collaboration with major tech companies like AWS, Google, Meta, and Microsoft, is spearheading a groundbreaking initiative to promote the use of low-embodied carbon concrete, or “green concrete,” in data center construction. This project aims to significantly reduce the carbon footprint of concrete, a key building material in data centers, by more than 50% per cubic yard.
