The groundwork for Calgary’s new event center has begun with the infrastructure enabling process underway. This involves relocating utilities and services from Fifth Street to the new 5A Street. Fifth Street will be closed, and 5A Street will initially serve as a temporary road for construction access. The $920 million project, which includes an 18,000-seat arena north of the Scotiabank Saddledome, is preparing the site for a later construction start this year.
