CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026 reinforced its leadership in industry well-being by partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise more than $112,000 for mental health and suicide prevention initiatives.
The collaboration brought increased awareness to mental health challenges facing construction professionals, an industry where workforce pressures, long hours, and jobsite risks can impact well-being. Through a series of educational sessions, onsite activations, and dedicated spaces, attendees were encouraged to prioritize mental health and foster supportive workplace cultures.
A key highlight took place on the Ground Breakers Stage, where Christine Yu Moutier emphasized the importance of reducing stigma and improving access to mental health resources. The discussion underscored the role employers, colleagues, and industry leaders play in creating safer, more supportive environments.
Attendees had direct access to AFSP representatives at an interactive booth, where they could learn about suicide prevention programs, workplace mental health strategies, and tools to support employees across construction and related sectors.
To further support attendee well-being, the event featured a dedicated Wellness Lounge—a quiet space designed for relaxation, reflection, and access to mental health information. This initiative highlighted the growing recognition that mental wellness is essential to workforce productivity, safety, and long-term industry sustainability.
According to show leadership, prioritizing mental health is critical to the future of construction. By integrating wellness programming into a major industry event, CONEXPO-CON/AGG demonstrated how organizations can lead meaningful change and promote a culture of care.
The funds raised will directly support AFSP’s mission to save lives and provide hope through research, education, advocacy, and community-based support programs.
The success of this initiative reflects a broader shift across the construction sector, where mental health, safety, and workforce resilience are becoming central to operational excellence. As companies continue to navigate labor shortages and evolving workplace expectations, investing in mental health resources is increasingly recognized as both a moral responsibility and a strategic priority.
