Command Alkon has appointed Tim Oakes as Chief Technology Officer (CTO), expanding his leadership role across the company’s technology, engineering, product and platform portfolio serving the heavy building materials industry.
As CTO, Oakes will lead Command Alkon’s technology strategy and engineering organization, helping guide product and platform development across the business.
Oakes joined Command Alkon in 2025 following its acquisition of Digital Fleet, where he served as President and CEO. He initially became Senior Vice President, Global Fleet Strategy at Command Alkon, overseeing the combined fleet management portfolio and development of integrated fleet technologies for heavy building materials producers worldwide.
His promotion to CTO broadens that responsibility across Command Alkon’s technology and engineering operations.
At Digital Fleet, Oakes played a central role in shaping the company’s strategy, culture and product vision. Its technology focused on improving operational performance and logistics efficiency for companies in the construction materials sector.
Command Alkon CEO Martin Willoughby said Oakes has already brought clarity and momentum to the company’s technology strategy, highlighting his ability to connect engineering execution with long-term product development.
Oakes said Command Alkon has an opportunity to help define the future of technology for the heavy building materials industry, with an emphasis on strong engineering, clear product vision and measurable customer outcomes.
Oakes brings extensive experience in software engineering, technical product management and technology leadership, including previous roles with Groupon and Orbitz.
He was also named a recipient of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2026 Pros to Know Award, recognizing his industry leadership.
The appointment positions Oakes to guide Command Alkon’s broader technology strategy as the company continues developing software, fleet management and integrated digital solutions for heavy building materials producers.
