Command Alkon, a global provider of software for the heavy building materials industry, has announced that Francisco Partners will acquire a majority stake in the company from Thoma Bravo, marking a significant milestone in its continued growth and digital transformation. Heidelberg Materials will retain its significant minority ownership, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the company’s strategy and technology platform.
The investment positions Command Alkon to accelerate development of its Command Cloud platform, expand AI-powered workflows, and advance autonomous plant operations for customers across the global construction materials industry.
Serving more than 14,000 plants in over 80 countries, Command Alkon provides software that helps producers digitize operations, optimize logistics, improve dispatch, manage fleets, and gain real-time visibility across the construction supply chain. The company’s cloud platform also supports secure data integration, AI-assisted decision-making, edge computing, and connected field technologies.
As Command Alkon celebrates its 50th anniversary, the company plans to use the new investment to expand its global presence while enhancing AI-driven automation, intelligent plant operations, and digital payment solutions.
CEO Martin Willoughby said the partnership strengthens Command Alkon’s ability to innovate while continuing its mission of helping heavy building materials producers improve operational performance through purpose-built technology.
Francisco Partners cited growing global infrastructure investment and the increasing adoption of artificial intelligence as key factors behind its investment. The firm believes Command Alkon is well positioned to help construction materials producers modernize operations through intelligent automation, cloud connectivity, and AI-enabled decision support.
During Thoma Bravo’s ownership, Command Alkon significantly expanded its cloud platform, introduced AI technologies including Batch AI and the Command Intelligence platform, and completed several strategic acquisitions that strengthened its software portfolio.
The transaction is expected to close in the second half of 2026, subject to customary regulatory approvals.
With continued support from Heidelberg Materials and new investment from Francisco Partners, Command Alkon is entering its next phase of growth, focused on helping ready-mix concrete, aggregates, asphalt, cement, and other heavy building materials producers improve productivity, operational efficiency, and digital transformation through advanced cloud and AI technologies.
