Celebrating Construction Milestone: 11 Yorkville Topping-Off Ceremony

RioCan Living, Metropia, and Capital Developments recently celebrated a significant construction milestone for 11 Yorkville with a topping-off ceremony on site, marking the completion of the final structural elements. The ceremony was attended by key consultants, partners, and stakeholders. With resident possessions beginning in Q4 of 2024, this milestone brings 11 Yorkville one step closer to reshaping Toronto’s skyline and setting a new standard for luxury living in Canada.

“Today marks a significant milestone for our development partnership,” says Kalliopi Karkas, Vice President, RioCan Living. “RioCan Living’s goal is to build dynamic developments that enhance communities in Canada’s major markets. 11 Yorkville brings a world-class landmark to one of Toronto’s most prominent streets. We are excited to see 11 Yorkville seamlessly integrate into this neighbourhood and make its mark on the city.”

11 Yorkville has been on track to transform the city skyline since it broke ground in November 2020. With 65-storeys offering 698 premium residences, best-in-class amenities, and a vibrant two-storey retail space spanning over 25,000 sq. ft., 11 Yorkville will also include Sweat and Tonic’s third Toronto location. Occupying 18,000 sq. ft. on the second floor, the Yorkville Sweat and Tonic will feature over 200 classes led weekly by top trainers, highlighting the quintessential Yorkville lifestyle at the doorstep for future residents.

“11 Yorkville brings together some of the city’s best in development, design, and construction. To our partners whose dedication and expertise have been crucial in achieving this milestone, thank you for getting us here,” says Samuel Frum, President, Metropia. “From the onset, this project was never about another luxury residence, it was about preserving the soul of Yorkville. It’s one of the last chances to live on Toronto’s most beloved streets, where every corner tells a story, and every step embraces the neighbourhood’s rich history.”

Designed by Sweeny&Co with inspiration from New York’s iconic 1920s skyscrapers, 11 Yorkville will join the high-end, luxury retail and restaurants that line Yorkville’s charming streetscapes, reflecting the neighbourhood’s renowned reputation on the world stage. The project has garnered exceptional interest and has sold out, with the exception of a few newly released penthouse units.

The interiors, crafted by Cecconi Simone, include luxurious finishes and state-of-the-art amenities that redefine urban living standards. Design-forward kitchens form the heart of the suites, which include a two-level black marble island with a built-in wine trough – perfect for both dining and food preparation – in addition to a wine fridge, and a marble range hood enclosure.

“From the meticulously crafted residences to the upcoming Sweat and Tonic location, 11 Yorkville represents the pinnacle of how luxury living looks in Toronto,” says Carlo Timpano, President, Capital Developments. “Today’s milestone underscores the development teams’ relentless commitment to creating a truly well-designed, sophisticated, luxury living opportunity in a location that demands it.  We are proud to have worked with Metropia and RioCan Living to contribute yet another landmark in Yorkville.”

11 Yorkville will also introduce a new 14-metre-wide parkette that will connect Cumberland Street to Yorkville Avenue, adding to the public spaces in Yorkville, which include the Rose Garden and the Village of Yorkville Park.

11 Yorkville residents will also have access to world-class amenities, including an indoor-outdoor infinity pool opening onto an expansive terrace with panoramic views of Toronto’s skyline, complemented by a hammam spa for serenity and relaxation.

The project is being delivered on schedule with construction managed by PCL Construction. “Topping off on 11 Yorkville is a celebration of the unrelenting commitment put forth by the entire collaborative team. Congratulations to RioCan Living, Capital Developments, Metropia and all of the consultants and trade partners on reaching this key construction milestone,” says Marc Pascoli, Senior Vice President and District Manager of PCL Constructors Canada Inc. “A special thank you goes to the 250 tradespeople who built this 65-storey residential tower to the highest level of standards from the ground up. We are excited to progress towards the finish line and deliver this bold new addition to Toronto’s most beloved street.”

Well located near Yonge-Bloor and Bay subway stations, 11 Yorkville offers unparalleled accessibility to Toronto’s cultural landmarks, top retail, and dining destinations, reinforcing its status as a new landmark in the city and on the world stage.
