CCA Announces Cross-Canada Construction Tour Highlighting Major Infrastructure Projects

The Canadian Construction Association (CCA) has announced the launch of the Construction for Canadians Tour, a new national docuseries designed to give Canadians a behind-the-scenes look at how major infrastructure and building projects are delivered across the country.

Set to begin filming in June, the 12-week cross-Canada tour will travel across 10 provinces with 21 stops, showcasing active construction sites and recently completed landmark projects. The series aims to highlight the skilled workforce, technology, planning, and collaboration required to build the infrastructure Canadians rely on every day.

Filmed as an 11-episode docuseries, the tour will feature conversations with construction professionals, industry leaders, and elected officials while visiting major projects. The goal is to increase public understanding of the construction sector and demonstrate the complexity and coordination required to deliver homes, transportation networks, hospitals, and public infrastructure.

According to Rodrigue Gilbert, President of the Canadian Construction Association, Canada currently faces ambitious national goals for housing development and infrastructure expansion. While construction is essential to achieving these priorities, much of the work involved in delivering projects happens behind the scenes and is often overlooked by the public.

The Construction for Canadians Tour seeks to change that narrative by opening the door to the construction process and showcasing the professionals who design, manage, and build the country’s critical infrastructure.

Throughout the tour, the series will engage directly with project teams on-site and share candid discussions during travel between locations. These conversations will provide insights into the planning, innovation, skilled trades, safety practices, and teamwork required to bring complex projects to completion.

Another key objective of the series is to address common misconceptions about the construction industry. By highlighting the expertise, coordination, and investment required for modern construction projects, the tour aims to foster a deeper appreciation for the sector and the people working within it.
