The Canadian Home Builders’ Association N.L. (CHBA-NL) has handed out the hardware celebrating the best in Newfoundland and Labrador’s residential construction centre.
The association’s 10th annual Berg Awards were held Saturday night in St. John’s.
The BERG Awards recognize achievement in high quality workmanship, customer service,
energy efficiency, and professionalism in new home construction and renovations.
“Although the housing sector has been impacted by the provincial economy over the last few years, our members’ commitment to quality remains top priority,” says Victoria Belbin, CEO for CHBA-NL, “We received submissions from the industry that were outstanding this year. These companies have shown great leadership in addressing the needs of consumers providing affordable, energy efficient and quality options.”
Three builders/renovators took home multiple awards Saturday night.
York Developments Inc. won two New Home Awards in the Under 1,500 sq.-ft and Between 1,500-2,200 sq.-ft categories.
Gibraltar Homes also received two awards, in the New Home Multi-Unit/Condo and Marketing of New Homes categories.
In a rare occurrence at the BERG Awards, one association member won in both new home and renovation categories – New Found Builders won the award for New Home Over 2,200 sq.-ft and Renovator’s Choice.
