As reported in the Kingston Herald, this Friday, the second day of the 2019 Limestone Skills Competition – created to promote the skilled trades and technologies as viable, first-choice career options to students – will take place at St. Lawrence College and Bayridge Secondary School.
“Skilled trades play an important role in our economy and our society yet are often an overlooked pathways for students,” said Mike Mol, Expanded Opportunities Consultant with the Limestone District School Board, in a release. “Skills competitions allow us to inform and engage our students in the benefits of pursuing a fulfilling career in skilled trades and technologies.”
The first competitions were held on March 6 at Napanee District Secondary School for secondary school students in the fields of Auto Collision, Paint and Automotive Service.
Many more fields will be featured in the Limestone-sponsored competitions on Friday, March 22 for both elementary and secondary students.
