Alfar Capital, in partnership with Walter Capital Partners, has launched a new Eastern Canada roofing platform through investments in Toiture Couture and Couverture Montréal-Nord. The strategic partnership establishes a foundation for expanding commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing services while leading market consolidation across Québec, Ontario, and the Maritimes.
Together, the two Montréal-based companies create one of the largest roofing operations in the region, combining complementary expertise with the largest roofing workforce in Québec.
Toiture Couture has built a strong reputation for commercial and industrial re-roofing and preventative roof maintenance, supported by its dedicated Groupe Maintenance Couture division. Meanwhile, Couverture Montréal-Nord specializes in complex institutional roofing projects, bringing extensive technical expertise to schools, healthcare facilities, and public infrastructure.
Combined, the organizations employ approximately 330 people, positioning the new platform to respond to increasing demand while addressing ongoing skilled labour shortages across the roofing industry.
The new platform is designed to serve as the foundation for continued expansion throughout Eastern Canada. Alfar Capital plans to grow through additional partnerships with established roofing contractors across Québec, Ontario, and Atlantic Canada, strengthening service capabilities while preserving the entrepreneurial culture of each business.
The existing shareholders of both companies remain significant investors and will continue leading day-to-day operations, ensuring continuity for employees, customers, and business partners.
According to Fares Kabbani, Founder and Managing Partner of Alfar Capital, the partnership combines Toiture Couture’s leadership in maintenance services with Couverture Montréal-Nord’s expertise in complex institutional projects, creating a best-in-class operating model for long-term growth.
Maryse Couture, CEO of Toiture Couture, said the partnership supports the company’s commitment to raising industry standards while building on its established expertise and customer-focused culture.
Pierre-Olivier Nadeau, President of Couverture Montréal-Nord, added that combining complementary strengths and shared resources will enable both organizations to accelerate growth, deliver greater value to customers, and play a leading role in the ongoing consolidation of the Eastern Canadian roofing market.
As labour shortages and market fragmentation continue to challenge the construction sector, this new partnership reflects a growing trend toward strategic collaboration. By combining experienced leadership, skilled tradespeople, and specialized roofing expertise, the new platform is well positioned to deliver high-quality commercial, industrial, and institutional roofing solutions while supporting continued growth across Eastern Canada.
