Ajei Gopal to Succeed Tooey Courtemanche as Procore CEO

Procore Technologies, Inc., a leading global provider of construction management software, announced that Ajei Gopal has been appointed Chief Executive Officer Designate and member of its Board of Directors. Gopal will officially succeed Founder, President, and CEO Tooey Courtemanche following the release of Procore’s Q3 financial results, with an effective start date of November 10, 2025. Courtemanche will transition out of day-to-day operations and continue in his role as Chair of the Board of Directors.

Gopal brings more than 35 years of leadership experience in global technology companies, most recently serving as President and CEO of Ansys, Inc. (2017–2025). During his tenure, Ansys tripled its revenue, nearly quadrupled market value, and established itself as the global leader in engineering simulation. Gopal also oversaw the company’s landmark $35 billion acquisition by Synopsys, Inc., later joining Synopsys’s Board of Directors.

His career spans senior roles at Hewlett-Packard, CA Technologies, and Symantec, as well as experience as an operating partner at Silver Lake and founder of ReefEdge Networks. This diverse background has equipped him with deep expertise in scaling innovation, navigating market complexity, and driving operational excellence.

In his statement, Gopal emphasized Procore’s role in revolutionizing one of the world’s most essential yet under-digitized industries: construction. “Procore is one of the most transformative companies in the market today,” said Gopal. “Tooey has built a truly exceptional company, and I am honored to lead Procore through its next phase of growth.”

Courtemanche reflected on the company’s 25-year journey, crediting employees, partners, and the broader construction industry for Procore’s success. “We’ve found an exceptional leader in Ajei, who understands that Procore is more than software—it’s a mission-driven platform that empowers people to build the places that shape our world,” Courtemanche said.

Graham Smith, Lead Independent Director, echoed the Board’s confidence in the appointment. “Ajei’s track record of efficient growth, innovation, and operational excellence makes him uniquely suited to guide Procore into the future while continuing to deliver value to all stakeholders.”

Procore reaffirmed its Q3 and full-year fiscal 2025 guidance, signaling confidence in the company’s trajectory under this leadership transition.

With Gopal at the helm and Courtemanche continuing as Chair, Procore is well-positioned to expand its category leadership in construction management software and accelerate its mission of empowering people to build the physical world through digital innovation.
