5 Safety Tips for RV Rangers Maintenance Workers

For many an intrepid traveler, a Recreational Vehicle means freedom and flexibility. RV owners can go where they want with confidence that they have the comforts of home within their motorized abode.

What could possibly go wrong?

An RV has all the complexity of any large vehicle plus the intricacy of plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, and ventilation systems. These systems are subject to rigors that a house sitting on a hilltop does not endure. Damage to seals and seams can also wreak havoc, and the rooftop is especially vulnerable.

RV owners should take some responsibility for upkeep and care; however, comprehensive maintenance is best left to professionals with the necessary skills and experience. A modern repair facility should also have fall protection and other safety measures that typical RV owners should never have to consider as they set their sights on the open road.

1. Pit Covers for Safe Access Underneath

Chassis, suspension, brakes, exhaust, drive train, fuel system, plumbing, tanks, drainage, axles and bearings, wiring and cables, propane delivery—there is a long list of system parts and components that need to be inspected and maintained from beneath an RV. Lifts are expensive and potentially dangerous. A vehicle maintenance pit provides easy access to the underside of an RV and gives workers outstanding freedom of movement and flexibility to perform their tasks efficiently.
