Why Engineers Invent Floods

Flooding is one of the biggest challenges of building and developing the modern world. Nearly every part of the constructed environment is vulnerable in some way to heavy rainfall. The ways we deal with are constantly evolving, hopefully in a direction that puts a greater emphasis on natural watershed processes and ecosystem services.
