Milestone at the Stouffville Go Expansion project

Our EllisDon Civil team marked a major milestone at the Stouffville Go Expansion project! At the Steeles Avenue East grade separation site, a full road closure was implemented April 30 – May 3 to decommission the temporary detour road north of Steeles Ave East and to safely divert traffic to the south side of the new Steeles Avenue East underpass below the rail bridge.

Excavation and retaining wall works will continue on the north side of the underpass along with construction of the storm water pumping station. Once complete, the underpass will provide increased road capacity, improved connections for GO train passengers and enhanced safety for pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles!
