Lambton Generating Station Implosion

On Saturday, February 12, 2022 – Ontario Power Generation (OPG) took down the smokestacks and remaining structures  of the Lambton Generating Station in Courtright, Ontario.

The blast includes the toppling of 4- 225’ hung boiler structures, 3- 650’ stacks, and 2-200’ SCR structures all sequenced over a 30 second period. In total, over 5000 pounds of explosives in 2200 different locations were used to complete the implosion.
