Construction timelapse of supportive housing project in Nanaimo

702 Nicol Street is the site of a supportive housing development currently under construction in Nanaimo.

To save time and reduce construction waste, BC Housing is using modular construction methods where the building is pre-fabricated elsewhere, then delivered and assembled on site. This video shows the four-storey, wood frame building being assembled over the course of just six days.

Scheduled for completion in Fall 2021, the building will provide 52 individual studio units with their own kitchenette and washroom, as well as 14 spaces for vulnerable women and a community amenity space at ground level.
